How Long Does a Trampoline Mat Last?

There is no perfect answer.

There is no set lifespan for every trampoline mat.

A jump mat spends years outside dealing with jumping, stretching, sun, rain and changing weather. A trampoline used every day may also wear differently from one used only on weekends.

Instead of counting the years, look at the condition of the mat.

Check for:-

  • holes or tears

  • damaged stitching

  • worn edges

  • damaged attachment points

  • unusual stretching

  • major surface wear

If something does not look right, stop using the trampoline and inspect it before the next jump.

Can You Get a Replacement Trampoline Mat?

Yes.

If the frame and the rest of the trampoline are still in good condition, you may only need a replacement trampoline mat rather than replacing the whole trampoline.

Make sure you identify your exact trampoline model and size before ordering. Different models may use different jump mats, even if they look similar.

If you purchased your Vuly directly from us, we may already have your product details on record. Eligible registered Vuly customers can also access 50% off replacement core parts, including the Jump Mat.

My Trampoline Mat Is Worn Out, Do I Need to Replace It?

If your trampoline mat feels heavily worn, stretched or damaged, replacement is usually the safer option.

The mat carries your weight every time you jump, so it is not a part worth taking chances with.

You do not automatically need a whole new trampoline.

If the frame, springs or leaf springs, safety net and other major parts are still in suitable condition, replacing the jump mat may give the trampoline plenty more backyard life.

My Trampoline Mat Colour Has Faded, Is It Still OK?

Colour fading does not always mean the trampoline mat needs replacing.

Outdoor materials naturally spend a lot of time in the sun, so the colour may change over time.

What matters more is the condition of the mat itself.

Check whether the surface still feels strong and whether there are any cracks, tears, loose stitching or worn attachment points.

If the only issue is colour fading and the mat is otherwise in good condition, replacement may not be necessary.

My Trampoline Mat Has a Small Hole, Should I Replace It?

Yes, it is safer to replace a trampoline mat with a hole.

Even a small hole can become larger as the mat stretches during jumping.

A trampoline mat is constantly taking load and tension, so a small damaged area can get worse with repeated use.

Avoid continuing to jump on it and check for a compatible replacement mat.

My Trampoline Mat Has a Big Hole, What Should I Do?

Stop using the trampoline.

A large hole, major tear or heavily damaged section means the jump mat should be replaced before the trampoline is used again.

It is also a good time to check the rest of the trampoline, including the safety net, springs or leaf springs, frame and attachment points.

Sometimes the mat is the only part that needs replacing.

Sometimes an older trampoline may need a few parts refreshed at the same time.

Should I Replace the Mat or Buy a New Trampoline?

If the trampoline is still structurally sound and the main problem is the mat, replacing the trampoline mat can be the simplest option.

If several major parts are badly worn or damaged, it may make more sense to look at a new trampoline.

Facts: A trampoline mat, also called a jump mat, is the main surface you bounce on. There is no exact number of years every mat will last because weather, usage and care are different for every backyard. If your mat is badly worn, torn or has a hole, replacing the mat may be enough, you may not need a whole new trampoline.
