Easter Crafts for Kids

Easter is a perfect time to get your kids together and get creative. We have an assortment of Easter crafts and activities that will have your whole family wishing Easter came around more often!

DIY Salt Dough Ornaments

here’s nothing like a colourful centrepiece to set the scene for seasonal celebrations. These salt dough ornaments are super simple to make, yet they look like stylish decorations from a store. Adorn your window sills or breakfast table, or add monograms and gift them to family and friends for a fantastic alternative to more chocolate.

What you’ll need for the ornaments:

  • Salt dough
  • Ruler
  • Rolling pin
  • Oval biscuit cutter
  • Spatula
  • Straw
  • Baking paper
  • Acrylic paint / paint pens
  • Clear sealer
  • Twine

What you’ll need for the salt dough:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1/2 cup water

Method:

  • Mix together the salt dough ingredients until the dough forms, then gently knead it to smoothen it out.
  • Roll out the dough until it’s about 5 mm thick, then cut out your egg shapes using your oval cutter.
  • Place the cut-out eggs onto baking paper on an oven tray. Poke out holes at the top of the eggs using the straw; you'll thread the twine through this hole later.
  • Bake in the oven at 120°C for two hours.
  • Remove and allow them to cool.
  • Decorate the eggs using acrylic paints. Unleash your inner artist, or ask the kids for help!
  • Allow the paint to completely dry. Brush over with a thin layer of clear sealant.
  • Tie pieces of twine through the holes, one dry, so that you can hang the eggs.

Easter egg garland for your trampoline

This colourful and fun DIY Easter project will have your Vuly trampoline transformed into a backyard Easter centrepiece. Easy, affordable and perfect for getting the kiddies involved.

What you’ll need:

  • 15 pieces of white A3 cardboard
  • Scissors
  • A hole punch
  • Paint and brushes
  • A roll of string
  • Wire ties

What to do:

  • Draw out a large Easter egg outline onto one of the pieces of A3 card, and cut it out. Use the stencil to create 14 other large Easter eggs out of the remaining card
  • Using the paints and brushes, paint designs onto each of the Easter eggs then set aside to dry
  • Once dry, use the hole punch to cut a hole into the top of each of the Easter eggs
  • Thread through the long piece of string (tying a single knot through the top of each hole to secure the egg in place)
  • Using the wire ties, fix the garland to your Vuly trampoline enclosure

Easter games with your Vuly Trampoline

Balloon Easter egg hunt

The perfect fun trampoline Easter activity for the little ones who aren’t quite ready for a full blown Easter egg hunt, this version is played from the inside of your Vuly trampoline enclosure with one very fun addition—balloons!

What you’ll need:

  • A bag of small Easter eggs
  • Balloons (and a dedicated balloon blower!)

How to play:

  • Blow up the bag of balloons and throw them into the trampoline enclosure
  • Pour the bag of small Easter eggs inside of the trampoline enclosure and spread them around underneath the pile of balloons
  • Invite the little ones onto the trampoline where they can bounce around looking for eggs amongst the bouncy balloons

Bouncing Bunnies

This trampoline-based Easter activity involves something fun every child loves—dressing up! Transform your kids into little bunnies before they hop up onto their Vuly trampoline for some serious Easter-themed fun.

What you'll need:

  • Bunny costume ears, a cotton wool tail and face paint (for a little bunny nose and whiskers)
  • A packet of water balloons
  • A pool noodle fixed into a hoop (a couple of pieces of duct tape will do the trick)

The aim of the game: to catch as many water balloons as possible without breaking them, and get them safely into the “bunny burrow”, all while hopping bunny style!

How to play:

  • Fill up your packet of water balloons with water and set aside
  • Dress the kids up in their bunny outfits, drawing on a little pink nose, black whiskers, fixing a cotton wool tail onto their pants with double sided tape, and popping on their bunny ears
  • Place the round pool noodle onto the trampoline mat—this will be their “bunny burrow”
  • Have one child jump up onto the trampoline to begin their round, which will go for one minute.Gently start throwing water balloons into the trampoline enclosure, mixing up how much time is in between each throw
  • Ensure the child is hopping like a bunny the entire time, and delivering their water balloons into their ‘bunny burrow’
  • At the end of the round, count how many water balloons they collected in their ‘bunny burrow’, then allow the next child their turn. Whoever collected the most water balloons is the winner.

Easter Games With Your Vuly Playset

Obstacle Course Egg Race

Jazz up the classic Easter egg race by creating an obstacle course through your Vuly outdoor play set!

Once you’ve dyed your eggs with some bright Easter colours (and maybe drawn on a pattern or two), the kids will be ready to race the clock – while keeping their egg on the spoon – through some tricky swing set actions.

Whoever has the quickest time without smashing their egg, wins!

How to play:

  • Line up the kids at the start of the swing set obstacle course, and give each a spoon and decorated egg
  • Start your timer, and the first contender begins their turn! Make sure to record each child's time as they (without dropping their egg) –
    • complete 5 rotations on the 360 Spin Swing,
    • complete 5 pushes on the Yoga Swing,
    • complete the obstacle course by landing the basketball in the attached Basketball Set accessory
  • Announce who had the quickest time, once every child has had their turn.

Bunny to the burrow

Introduce a new level of Easter fun with our ‘Bunny to the burrow’ game, using your outdoor Vuly play set. All you need is the 360, some markers, balloons and the Vuly Basketball Set attachment to get the good times started.

How to play:

  • Blow up one balloon per child; use different coloured balloons for each child.
  • Draw a bunny face and tail on each one.
  • Have each child gather around the basketball hoop with their bunny balloon.
  • Whoever sinks their Easter bunny into his burrow – the basketball hoop – first wins!

Coloured Easter egg hunt

This reimagined version of the classic Easter egg hunt uses your outdoor play set’s hammock-like 360 Yoga Swing as the Easter egg stash point!

Rather than just collecting every egg in sight, each child only collects eggs in their given colour.

How to play:

Buy a bag of colourful mini-Easter eggs and assign each child who's playing a colour.

  • Hide the eggs in various spots around the backyard, without anyone watching.
  • Start the stopwatch! Whoever can get the most of their coloured eggs back into the 360 yoga swing in a 3-minute round wins.
